Remo Crolla

RemoRemo Crolla graduated from Strathclyde University in Marketing & Economics in 1990. For the next few years he managed his father's restaurant, Dino's in Sauchiehall St. At the age of 22, Remo decided he wanted to do his own thing - his own place in his own style! Little Italy, while typical for Italy, was unique in the UK. He wanted to offer good quality, affordable food in a casual setting. He is constantly striving to improve every aspect of Little Italy, but has no plans yet to expand.

 

Paolo Tanzillo

PaoloPaolo Tanzillo originates from Rome and has worked since 1994 in Little Italy, where he is now the Manager.In 1998 he fought off tough competition to earn the title of Brasilia National Barista of the Year. In doing so he collected the first prize of a splendid Challenge Trophy and a holiday for 2 in Venice. Paolo was among seven finalists from all over the UK who competed at the International Coffee Organisation in Berners Street, London.

 

 

Shirley Tanzillo

ShirleyShirley Tanzillo met Paolo during a 4 year stay in Rome. They eventually married after returning together to Glasgow and now have three children - Christina, Paul and Sammy. Shirley is Manageress of Little Italy.You will easily recognise Shirley by the fact she is always smiling and always helpful!

 

 

 

Jamie Clark

JamieNot only is Little Italy recognised for the award-winning coffee but also Jamie Clark has now won the UK final of the Délifrance European Sandwich Challenge twice! Each time with his own recipes - "Provencette Diavolette - Little Devil" and "Delizia Latina - Latin Delight" in 2000 and 2002. In 2000, Jamie came third in Paris in the European Sandwich Challenge. He then came back in 2002 and finished runner-up in Lyon.

 

 

William Wilson

WilliamWilliam was born and bred in Clydebank and has worked in Little Italy since 1996. William is a supervisor at Little Italy and is highly flexible in his abilities as a pasta chef, pizza chef and coffee making. He loves our travels to italy every year with the team and is always inspired to pick up some ideas and bring them back to Little Italy. William is in high spirits these days as he is due to get married to Heather...stay tuned!

 

 

Gabriella Poli

GabbyGabriella has been working in Little Italy since 1996 and originates from La Spezia in Northern Italy. She is married to Renato who used to work in Little Italy and together they have two children - Valentina and Giancarlo. She is Assistant Manageress and forms a great double act in the shop with Shirley!

 

 

 

Scott Nyberg

ScottScott, born and raised in Las Vegas, has been a pizza and pasta chef at Little Italy since 2003. Together with Nora, he has a cute little bambino called Hamish! Scott loves to express his love of food through his own pizza creations as well as having direct customer contact.
